about Roman
Roman is a city of Neamt County, Moldova, Romania. It is located in the central plateau Moldavia, Neamt County, at the confluence of the rivers Siret and Moldova. If in 1992, the census, the city had a population of 80,328 inhabitants in 2002 due to moving abroad due to economic crisis that has passed through the area, it was a stable population of 69,268 inhabitants.

Personalities
Many Romanian personalities of medieval or modern times were born, lived or have just stopped for a while in Roman. First they were Bishop Macarius, who lived in Romania between 1531 and 1558. Episcopal Cathedral of the Roman
With no clear documents showing precisely date the founding of this house of worship, historians consider that this statute was probably founded in the period 1408 - 1413, during the reign of Alexander the Good, who is considered the organizer of Moldovan church hierarchy. Subsequent work lasted for 8 years, ending in 1550 by Petru Rares care of his wife, Mrs. Elena Ilie and his sons, Stephen and Constantine, as shown in the text originating inscription, the eldest son's name (Ilie) was subsequently removed following its transition to Islam. Roman City
History
The first mention we find in the Novgorod Chronicle, dated to around 1387. The first written document is a charter of donation of 30 March 1392. City Name was taken from Roman I Musat, considered the founder of the city. When I founded the Roman and Hebrew city were among the first inhabitants. Until the establishment of the communist regime in Romania (1946-1949) was Roman county. County was abolished with the administrative reform of September 6, 1950, when the old counties were replaced by regions after the Soviet model. Administrative reform of Nicolae Ceausescu in 1968 has re-established Roman district, territory of the former county being included in the current predominantly Neamt County. Since 1989 Romania has not been reinstated County although a general request to that effect.
